About Shambhu Cafe
Shambhu Cafe is a mountain café at Insda Wellness Resort in Ban Pong, Hang Dong, Chiang Mai — created as a place to pause, reconnect and enjoy thoughtful food and drinks surrounded by nature. Our beverage culture brings together cacao, chai, tea, coffee, Indian-inspired flavours and a growing collection of personalized beverage experiences.
Our Story
Shambhu Cafe grew from a simple idea: a café can be more than a place to buy a drink. Located within the natural surroundings of Insda Wellness Resort, Shambhu was created as part of a wider approach to wellbeing — one that values slower moments, thoughtful hospitality, meaningful food and drink, connection with nature and genuine human interaction. Cacao became an important part of the Shambhu identity because it can be experienced in many ways: rich and comforting, light and aromatic, blended with spices, or enjoyed as cacao tea. Alongside cacao, our menu reflects cultural influences around us. Chai and Indian-inspired drinks sit naturally beside coffee, flower tea, smoothies and refreshing drinks. Rather than asking everyone to enjoy the same thing in the same way, Shambhu is developing experiences that help guests explore what may suit their taste, mood and moment. This thinking became the foundation of the Shambhu Wellness Beverage Compass™.
What We Hope to Create
We hope Shambhu becomes a place people remember not only for what they drank, but for how the moment felt. A morning cacao before exploring the mountains. A quiet flower tea after a long journey. Masala chai shared in conversation. A refreshing drink after time outdoors. A coffee when focus is needed. Or a social drink as the day slows into evening. Our goal is to connect beverages with place, time, taste and experience. Through the Shambhu Wellness Beverage Compass™, we are also exploring a more personal approach to beverage discovery — combining traditional wellness perspectives with current mood, time of day, personal preferences and the real Shambhu menu. The purpose is not diagnosis or treatment. It is to encourage curiosity and more thoughtful choices for the moment.
